Updated Prescribing Policy

Updated on May 5, 2024

At Excel Psychiatry, we are committed to providing safe and effective care to all our patients. In order to ensure the responsible prescribing of Schedule II Controlled Medications, we have updated our medication prescribing policy.

Effective immediately, as of May 5th, 2024, we will no longer be prescribing Schedule II Controlled Medications specifically for ADHD. Due to the increased demand and regulatory restrictions, we are limited to the number of patients that can be prescribed these Schedule II Controlled Medications. These medications include but are not limited to opioids, stimulants, and certain sedatives.

Patients of Excel Psychiatry who are currently prescribed Schedule II Controlled Medications will be closely monitored through regular follow-up appointments, and prescription monitoring programs. Our providers will continue to conduct a thorough assessment of the patient's medical history, current medications, and treatment goals. They will also discuss alternative treatment options and potential risks and benefits, when necessary. Please feel free to contact us if you have any adidtional questions or concerns, and we would be more than happy to assist.

We believe that these updated prescribing policies will help us better serve our patients and ensure the safe and appropriate use of Schedule II Controlled Medications. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
